Frequently Asked Questions
Why is the toolbar greyed out?
Both the toolbar extension for ArcMap™ 9.x and the GeoFUSE Toolbar Add-In for ArcMap™ 10 need to be enabled before you can use the toolbar.
Please see: Launching the Toobar in ArcMap™ 9.x or
Installing the Toolbar Add-In for ArcMap™ 10 depending on which version of ArcMap™ you are using.
Why is the "Search Catalog" button greyed out?
One of two reasons: If you are running a version of ArcMap previous to 9.2 with Service Pack 6 the catalog search button will not work.
The toolbar is supported by 9.2 SP 6 and newer.
If you are running a supported version of ArcMap™ it may be a proxy issue. Please see the Proxy Configuration section of the
System Requirements.
Why isn't the "Create AOI from Selected Feature" creating an AIO?
This is a known issue on the Toolbar version for 9.x. It is a very simple fix. Simply uninstall the toolbar and then reinstall it.
If you need to download it again, click here, select the ArcMap 9x. Toolbar and accept the terms
of use.
Why isn't the toolbar returning the same results as the online maps application?
This issue is usually a result of having different preferences set between the two applications. Make sure you are using the same
search preferences in both the maps application and the toolbar application.
I am receiving the error "Error HRESULT E-FAIL has been returned from a call to a COM component"
